The symposium is dedicated to advancing a holistic and multidisciplinary understanding of neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration, two interconnected, but often perceived to be separate, domains of neuroscience.

Recap: 19th Study Information Day & Parents’ Evening
On November 10th, the DAAD organized the 19th Study Information Day at the Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule (DEO) in Cairo. Students from grade 11 and 12 of DEO, DSB Cairo, DSB Alexandria, Europaschule Kairo, Beverly Hills School, Neue Deutsche Schule Alexandria, Nefertari School, Rahnschule, as well as 11 graduates of the Goethe-Institut Studienkolleg, took part in the event.
Eight universities, six universities of applied sciences, and two technical universities from Germany participated and presented a wide range of study programs. GUC Cairo and GIU Cairo represented Egyptian universities.
The German Embassy was also present and provided important information about visa and residence procedures.
Specialized presentations, personal experiences, and individual consultations offered students valuable insights into studying and living in Germany.
On November 11th, the DAAD held a Parents’ Evening at the Europaschule Kairo. Parents from all participating schools attended in person, while families from DSB Alexandria and Neue Deutsche Schule Alexandria joined online.
All universities and institutions that participated on November 10th were also present at the Parents’ Evening, offering additional guidance on study options, requirements, and application processes.
The German Embassy was again in attendance and provided detailed explanations of the student visa process.
Both events offered excellent opportunities for information, exchange, and inspiration for students and families preparing for higher education in Germany! 🇩🇪✨

Last evening, we had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Dr Kurt Franz, a distinguished historian of the Islamic Early and Middle Periods, for a thought-provoking lecture at the DAAD Regional Office Cairo.
Prof. Dr Franz explored how pre-modern rulers and officials preserved governmental knowledge. Drawing from rich historical examples, he examined how succession crises disrupted knowledge transfer.
