The DAAD Regional Office Cairo invites you to attend the public lecture entitled “Human Image in the Age of the Anthropocene. Approaching Sura 2:30-38 from the Perspective of Islamic Practical Theology”. The public lecture is organised in cooperation with the Orient Institut Beirut (OIB) within the framework of the DAAD project “Clusters of Scientific Innovation in the Middle East and North Africa” (COSIMENA).

The public lecture aims to shed light on the following perspectives:

The definition of Islamic practical theology, and the challenges or enrichment it brings to the study of Islamic theology
The topic of human beings considering the challenges of the Anthropocene
The new theological, organisational, and socio-political consequences of the Anthropocene

Target Group:

Researchers and Scientists working in all science fields that are resident in Egypt and the general public.
