Counselling Services at the DAAD Regional Office Cairo

The DAAD Regional Office Cairo offers the following counselling services:
1. Online information sessions for undergraduates about studying in Germany (Bachelor’s)
The DAAD Regional Office Cairo offers regular information sessions about studying in Germany for undergraduates (without a prior academic degree). This session is particularly useful for school students and their parents who are interested in gaining a Bachelor’s degree in Germany, but do not yet know about the specific requirements they have to meet and the steps that have to be taken. The sessions are conducted online and in Arabic or English.

During the session, the DAAD counselling team will talk about:
- the different higher education institutions in Germany
- how to find your study programme
- how and when to start planning (application, visa requirements)
- if your school leaving certificate is accepted at German universities (Thanaweya Amma/IGCSE/IB/American Diploma)
- financial aspects
After the session, you have the chance to ask questions. If you already have concrete questions about undergraduate studies in Germany, please feel free to send an email to info@daadcairo.org.
2. Individual counselling for postgraduate studies
The individual counselling for postgraduate studies takes place either face-to-face on the premises of the DAAD Regional Office Cairo (11 El Saleh Ayoub, Cairo-Zamalek) or online. You are free to choose which option is suitable for you.
If you have questions about your postgraduate opportunities in Germany (Master, PhD, Postdoc research), please register for an appointment here.
Attendees of an online session will receive an email with a link to a digital meeting via Microsoft Teams after registering.
Important Note: Please refrain from booking multiple time slots simultaneously, in order to ensure that all applicants have an equal opportunity to receive counselling from the DAAD.
3. Information sessions for higher education institutions upon request
The DAAD Regional Office Cairo also offers information sessions for Egyptian research institutes and universities and for groups of institution leaders, teaching staff and postgraduates. The content of these sessions can be adjusted to the needs of the respective target group.

4. DAAD lecturers – counselling at Egyptian universities
DAAD lecturers and language assistants are often the first point of contact for students and academics interested in a stay at a higher education institution in Germany, and are thus, a valuable link between Egyptian and German universities. In addition to their teaching activities at the universities, they also provide valuable information on study opportunities in Germany, scholarship programmes, and academic exchange in general.
