In February 2018 the DAAD Cairo Office hosted its first Agriculture Cluster event. COSIMENA organised a 2 day conference on challenges and proposed solutions in the agriculture field and connected scientists and researchers from Germany and the region.

The workshop “COSIMENA sets the stage for PRIMA Match Making in 2020” held on March 4th at the DAAD Cairo Regional Office highlighted the funding opportunities available to help combat the environmental and social challenges facing the Mediterranean region such as climate change, population growth, water scarcity and unsustainable agricultural practices.

Conference

From 15–17 December 2018, the 1st World Conference on By-Products of Palm Trees and Their Applications (ByPalma) took place in Aswan, where COSIMENA supported experts from Germany and the MENA region.

Smart Agriculture in Arid Regions (Sudan)

Expert Session

COSIMENA organised the first Agriculture Cluster event in Sudan on 19 November 2018, that brought together a group of experts to discuss “Smart Agriculture in Arid Regions”.

Food Safety and Human Health

International Congress

COSIMENA supported the “First International Congress on Food Safety and Human Health” from 16–17 April 2018 in Mansoura, which was organised by Mansoura University in cooperation with the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover.
