In 2024, a diverse series of activities brought together partners from Egypt, Germany, and countries of the Middle East and North Africa in funded networking events under the COSIMENA Call for Partnerships 2024.

Between May and December 2024, COSIMENA supported 16 events, consisting of a series of 1 Lecture Series, 7 Workshops, 1 Public Lecture, 4 Symposia, 1 Summer School, and 2 Winter Schools. These events covered a wide spectrum of disciplines, such as Agriculture, History, Economy, Political Economy, Education, Medicine, Health, Energy, Water, Urban Design, Technology, Industry, and Communication. This funding scheme expanded institutional partnerships, engaging universities and research institutions in Egypt and Germany. By facilitating knowledge exchange and strengthening partnerships in 2024, COSIMENA provided opportunities for doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and academics to showcase their work, exchange knowledge on potential opportunities and pressing challenges, and identify areas of collaboration in their respective fields. The COSIMENA funding scheme in 2024 helped build sustainable relationships that encourage future joint research projects and long-term scientific collaboration.
