DAAD Kairo Akademie (DKA)

The DAAD Kairo Akademie (DKA) provides targeted capacity-building programmes to strengthen skills and promote academic excellence in higher education and research.

Established in 2011 with funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, the DKA focuses on quality assurance and professional development for interested participants at universities, research institutions, and relevant ministries in Egypt.

To date, more than 20,000 participants have benefited from over 1,200 training modules across six key areas: Management, Communication, Research, Teaching, Institutional Development, and German Studies. The training modules are continuously adapted to meet the evolving needs of academia and foster innovation and international competitiveness.

The DKA offers tailored modules for various target groups, including prospective scholarship applicants, researchers, alumni, and administrative staff. Topics range from research-focused skills such as proposal writing and scientific presentation to essential soft skills like time management and teamwork. Trainings are delivered in small groups to ensure intensive and practical learning.

Due to high demand, participation is currently limited to a maximum of four modules per person per year.
