With extensive expertise in educational management and a special focus on the Middle East, Dr. Bachmann brings a wealth of international experience to her role. During her studies in History, she deepened her knowledge of the region by taking language courses in Damascus and Cairo, and her PhD focused on the Middle East. Her professional career led her to educational management, and in 2013, she became the head of the DAAD Information Center in Istanbul. In 2018, she transitioned to the DAAD headquarters, where she coordinated the consortium of the Turkish-German University (TDU) in Istanbul. Now, Dr. Bachmann returns to her new position with enthusiasm to advance student exchanges and further strengthen higher education and research collaborations between Germany and the region.
