During his Address speech, Dr. Abdelgahfar praised the excellent scientific cooperation between Egypt & Germany in post-grad joint programmes, scholarships and scientific exchange. He Also stressed the importance of the scientific and research cooperation between Nations to foster new researchers with a more sophisticated expertise in all fields of science.
A view that was shared by H.E Amb. Julius Georg Luy, German Ambassador in Egypt, who pointed out that Germany is endeavoring to provide Scholarships and joint education programmes to Egyptian students and researchers with the aim of improving the research and scientific environment in Egypt. He also praised the multitude of nationalities participating in the IUSD as a model of cultural interaction and diversity between the students of the IUSD.
Since its beginning in 2010, the IUSD has graduated 110 students from over 30 countries including Egypt, Germany, France, Canada, Tunisia, Sudan, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ethiopia….etc. The ceremony for the graduation of the 5th intake witnessed the graduation of 18 students.
