Third Cairobi Talks: Women in Leading Positions – Multi-disciplinary Perspectives from along the Nile

There are two DAAD offices on the African continent, separated by the traditional classification of “North Africa” and “Sub-Saharan Africa”, but connected by Africa’s most famous river, the Nile – as well as the challenges which the countries along the Nile between Kenya and Egypt are facing. The directors of the two DAAD Regional Offices in Cairo and Nairobi, Mrs. Beate Schindler-Kovats and Ms. Isabell Mering, decided to organize the 3^rd CAIROBI Talks and invited the DAAD Alumni from the Nile Basin Countries to participate in this conference.

From the 20^th to the 23^rd of November 2019, researchers and scientists from four different countries: Egypt, Kenya, Sudan Uganda and Somalia met in Cairo to discuss their current projects on “Women in Leading Positions” as well as their local experiences and regional perspectives and challenges.
